2011 Camp Dates

kayakingIn 2011, Tamarack Grief Resource Center will be offering A Camp To Remember (ACTR) for kids ages 8-14 who have lost a family member, Teen Retreats for teens grieving the death of a family member, and a Women’s Rendezvous for women grieving the loss of a loved one, on the following dates:

  • girls-gtownMay 3rd, 4:30-6:00pm (Tuesday) ACTR Open House and Reunion (Free), Ruby’s Inn and Convention Center (Missoula) A chance to reconnect for past campers and connect for new campers. Learn about our grief camps at Flathead and Georgetown Lakes. Bring your swimsuits!
  • May 21-22, (Saturday-Sunday) Women’s Rendezvous, Flathead Lake (Camp Marshall)
  • June 16-19 (Thursday – Sunday), ACTR, Flathead Lake (ages 8-14)
  • July (date TBA), Teen Retreat, Missoula (high school students)
  • August 7-10 (Sunday – Wednesday), ACTR, Georgetown Lake (ages 8-14)
  • September 30-October 2 (Friday-Sunday), Teen Camp, Flathead Lake (Camp Marshall), students in high school through age 19.

footballA Camp To Remember includes:

  1. Consultation with parent/guardian to determine child’s likelihood to benefit from grief camp
  2. Information packets to families (Camp info, grief resources, and tip sheets)
  3. Training packet to staff (Info on childhood grief, leadership, communication, activities)
  4. 6-hour Professional Training/Orientation for Staff Team
  5. 4-day, 3-night Grief Camp at Georgetown Lake or Flathead Lake
  6. T-shirts and stuffed animals for campers – symbols of care and togetherness
  7. Parent/Guardian Workshop – “Supporting our Kids; Supporting our Selves”
  8. Family Day: Bringing campers & families together to share stories, songs, & good food!
  9. Holiday Cards: Greetings and support for kids and staff during the winter
  10. Camp Reunions: Gatherings for campers to maintain contact and strengthen support network
